What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Personal data is not just created by a user’s interactions with our site. Personal data is also generated from technical processes such as contact forms, comments, cookies, analytics, and third party embeds.

By default, our website does not collect any personal data about visitors, and only collects the data shown on the User Profile screen from registered users. However, some third-party services may also collect personal data.

Contact forms

We collect the following personal data when someone submits a contact form: Name, Email, Phone, description and the user’s IP address.  This is used to service your requests, also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

We will only use your information to contact you regarding your inquiry. We keep contact form submissions for a year for customer service purposes, but we do not use the information submitted through them for marketing purposes unless the opt-in checkbox “I would like to receive regular communication from We buy test strips”, is checked.  

If you opt into our communications list using the checkbox above, we will only use your email address to contact you periodically about our products and services. You may unsubscribe at any time.  We may use a third-party service provider like MailChimp, Twilio and/or Constant Contact to send emails or special offers.

Our Forms Use Google’s Invisible reCAPTCHA

Customers who fill out our online forms will be required to use Google’s reCAPTCHA feature to prove that they are not a bot.   The use of the Invisible reCAPTCHA is subject to the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.”

Social Medial and Search Engine Advertising

We may advertise on Google Ads, Google Remarketing, Facebook or other social media websites and this may involve sharing your IP address and activity with these companies.  These websites use tracking code to measure user behavior and activity related to your time spent on our website as well as other websites you may visit.

Who has access to your data

Your information may be accessed by our hosting and IT support to help resolve issues with our website or to help you with your transaction. Our website is hosted with Amazon Web Services and our Web Design and IT Support is MBA Team, Inc.   You can contact them from their website at www.mbateam.com

How long we retain your data

If you create an account with our website or fill out one of our forms, the information and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can provide ongoing support and assist you with making a future transaction.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. 

Where we send your data

Visitor data entry may be checked through an automated spam detection service.  We also use Stamps.com for creating shipping labels for our customers.  Stamps.com will store your address and contact information for the purpose of shipping and tracking your shipment to us.

How we protect your data

We take the following measures to protect our users’ data. We use SSL encryption on our website to prevent users form hijacking communications.   Your password is stored and encrypted.   Our admin area has security measures such as two factor authentication; and our staff is training in data protection.

Performance and Security

We use a third-party software called WordFence to provide Firewall services to secure and speed up our website.   Defiant, the company behind Wordfence, has updated its terms of use, privacy policies and software, as well as made available a data processing agreement to meet GDPR compliance. What data breach procedures we have in place

As part of our company’s data protection policies, we have in place a procedure to respond quickly and efficiently to minimize the negative impact customers’ data if security has been compromised.  We will notify customers within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach. 

Additional information we collect and store

While you visit our site, we’ll track:

  • Products you’ve viewed: we’ll use this to, for example, show you products you’ve recently viewed
  • Location, IP address and browser type: we’ll use this for purposes like estimating taxes and shipping
  • Shipping address: we’ll ask you to enter this so we can, for instance, estimate shipping before you place an order, and send you the order!

We make and accept payments through PayPal. When processing payments, some of your data will be passed to PayPal, including information required to process or support the payment, such as the purchase total and billing information.
